2022 May Proclamation of Historic Preservation Month

The National Register of Historic Places is the official list of the Nations’ historic places worthy of preservation. Authorized by the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the National Park Service’s National Register of Historic Places is part of a national program to coordinate and support public and private efforts to identify, evaluate and protect America’s historic and archeological resources. Established in 1973 by the National Trust for Historic Preservation for May, the event is co-sponsored by local preservation groups, State historical societies, business, and civic organizations across the country.

Proclamations were read at the County Board of Supervisors meeting, American Canyon City Council meeting, Calistoga City Council meeting (Zoom), Napa City Council meeting, and St. Helena City Council meeting (Zoom).
